Job Purpose:
To provide coaching and development to personnel attending Fire Fighting and Specialist Rescue courses run by Petrofac Training Services. When necessary conduct competence assessment of course delegates. Supporting constructive observations and suggestions on methods of instruction and conduct of courses to aid continuous development improvement and update of course content in line with national and international standards.

Duties and Responsibilities:
To undertake coaching of courses through both lecture and practical based sessions.
To continually assess the standard attained by students during courses.
To lead and assist in the conduct of any exercise and scenarios.
To assist in the development and design of new and existing courses as required.
Be able to interact with students to whom English is not well spoken and to impart knowledge and skills using various proven means of teaching.
Be able to provide credible practical or underpinning examples of learning material.
To brief and control Support Staff for fire training courses or exercises; to ensure that fire courses are provided with the equipment and facilities specified in the course programme.
To visit offshore/onshore installations for familiarisation purposes; to give instruction to personnel and/or to obtain material to prepare courses as directed by the Operations Manager

To comply with relevant sections of the Companys Procedures Manual staff notices and any other communiques.
To maintain discipline and ensure that laid down safety standards for both staff and trainees are adhered to at all times
To attend staff development training courses both in-house and external as detemined by Petrofac Training Management.
To undertake work allocated by your line manager.

Knowledge Skills and Competence

Knowledge of international Fire Fighting standards NFPA National Occupational Standards
Theory of fire flashover & backdraught
Knowledge of hazards and strategies and tactics for fire fighting in petroleum industry
Advance first aid
Practical & theoretical knowledge of confined space entry & rescue
Specialist rescue skills and knowledge

Capable to work independently & without supervision.
Must be physically fit and capable of working at project site in extreme weather conditions.
Effective communicator with a genuine interest in the subject matter.
Be capable of working with different cultures and developing good working relationships with trainees.
He / she needs to have a flexible attitude to all work activities and be prepared to accept training schedule changes If necessary and to work unsocial hours to get the job done.
Must be adept at preparation of course materials presentations practical activities and organizing exercises.
Fully conversant with Health and Safety requirements for delivery of practical; BA Confined space and live fire training exercises.

Incident Command Qualification
Confined Space Technician
Rope Rescue Technician

5 years Oil and Gas experience
Minimum 5 years experience in Fire fighting
2 years experience in developing Fire training courses.
10 years Fire & Rescue Service experience
