About the role

Our Senior HC Operations Manager, People Experience sits within our HC Operations Management Team which is comprised of Senior Managers, Managers, Advisors and Coordinators.

Our HC Operations Management team is made up of three pillars;

  1. People Excellence focussed on the areas of performance, talent, reward and elements of L&D;

  2. People Experience focussed on workforce administration, employee engagement and diversity inclusion and well being; and

  3. First Five years focussed on all HC activity related to our below manager employee population.

As a Senior Manager within the HC Operations Management team you will be responsible alongside your team leader for pastoral care and coaching of all team members as well as providing matrix management of those individuals allocated to the processes, activities and projects which you are running/managing, Actively role model a positive mindset throughout the implementation of change initiatives, creating a sense of team spirit, encouraging shared ownership of objectives and deliverable

Below provides a summary of key activities for a Senior Manager role in People Experience;

  • Build close relationships with senior business partners to share experience and insights as to the practical implications of operationalising people plans in respect of D&I, Wellbeing and employee engagement

  • Actively participate in a network spanning the Senior HC Managers and HC Operations Senior Managers to assist with building a mutual understanding of strategic priorities and plans across the business and raise awareness of implementation considerations

  • Work closely with other People Teams to schedule the launch of new initiatives and strategies in relation to D&I and Wellbeing at optimal times, providing subject matter expertise and operations input

  • Maintain relationships with relevant specialists in Employee Relations to ensure team is up to date on issues and themes across the firm

  • Lead on employee engagement analysis working closely with the HC and other People Teams

  • Design firmwide consistent processes and activities and determine where efficiencies can be created

  • Own and manage cyclical activity collaborating across all HC teams to drive consistency and efficient delivery of solutions, initiatives and processes across the Firm to optimise their impact

  • Be an escalation point for complex queries in respect of processes for which you have oversight and responsibility

  • Provide analytics and predictive insights on core HC processes to support business partner interactions with the business and support informed decision making and development of business solutions

  • Look for opportunities for digital transformation and tools with HC Operations Management and escalate ideas

The role can be based in London or Birmingham (other locations can be considered).




Successful applicant will require


  • Previous experience in an HR generalist role at a senior level, leading a team; experience in professional services/large corporates and matrix management advantageous

  • Commercial understanding of the business and how HR can enhance performance via the people agenda

  • Broad generalist HR knowledge and experience

  • Strong project management and organisational skills, to manage high volumes of work, often within tight deadlines

  • Ability to plan ahead within the cyclical calendar to provide proactive HR support to the business

  • Technically curious - desire to develop own digital intelligence and capabilities, and support the adoption of technologies to support the business and HC

  • Strong excel skills and the ability to efficiently manipulate and interpret data

  • Ability to challenge and realign work away from the HC team where necessary

  • High standard of written documentation, and previous experience of producing professional and robust letters and reports

  • Pragmatic, diplomatic, sound written skills

  • A good team player and leader

  • Portray a professional mindset

  • Communicate/interact effectively with employees/career coaches while displaying empathy and courtesy

  • Strong interpersonal/consulting skills, working effectively at all levels of the organisation

  • Flexibility and adaptability in both attitude and approach

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Cultivate trust with customers, team members and others within the wider HC function

  • Responsibility for developing own knowledge and future career progression within the HC function

  • Willingness to take on extra responsibility and go the extra mile

  • CIPD qualified
