Required Title (Role) : Senior Consultant

What does the job do and why is it needed?

A brief statement on the core purpose and responsibility of the role.

A requirement has arisen for a resource to assist with the assessment, analysis and consolidation or development of the current IT Policies and Procedures between two sister companies and proceed to the sole purpose of publishing all the integrated Policy and Procedures.

The resource will be expected to understand the IT Policy and Procedures Integration task force objectives and work with the Workstream Core Team members to achieve the desired outcomes, resolve complex issues related to Policy and Procedure integration, work under broad direction of the Integration Management Office and the specific direction of the Workstream lead.

The work is often self-initiated and it is a fully accountable role for meeting the allocated Workstream tasks and deliverables or project objectives along with the Core Team members.

Required Skills

The resource will be tasked to review, update and work on documents quality assurance and incorporate feedback provided in to the documents. The resource will also need to develop, gather, and disseminate awareness and technical information amongst the target audience and subject matter experts.

Required Technical skills:

· Work with the core team members to obtain an in-depth understanding of the current IT Policy and Procedures between the two sister companies

· Produce high-quality documentation that meets applicable standards and is appropriate for its intended audience

· Proven working experience in technical writing of IT Process documentation

· Ability to deliver high quality documentation paying attention to detail

· Ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts and make them easily understandable in text and process diagrams

· Excellent written skills in English

· Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office

· Plan, develop, organize, write and edit Operational Procedures and Processes

· Maintain a comprehensive library of technical terminology and reflect in the applicable documentation

· Analyze documents to maintain continuity of style of content in line with Qatargas Corporate Documentation standards

· Assist in the creation of awareness materials to help end-users on the newly published Policy and Procedures

Specific Requirements (Technical Competency)


The qualifications, knowledge, experience, skills and personal attributes required for the job.

Knowledge (qualification) and Experience

1. Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems or other relevant degree

2. Proven experience working in a technical writing position

3. Excellent written and verbal communication skills

4. Proficiency in MS Office

5. Strong attention to detail

6. Able to write in explanatory and procedural styles for multiple audiences

7. Skilled at prioritization and multi-tasking

8. Minimum of 7 years of IT processes experience ideally within the oil/gas industry

9. Minimum of 5 years’ experience in IT Policy and Procedures development and maintenance

10. Document writing skills alongside document Quality Assurance experience

11. Fluent in English language (demonstrated verbal & written skills) with well-developed interpersonal and presentation skills and the ability to communicate to all levels.

12. Conversant with relevant IT national and international standards

13. Practical experience in ITIL, Project management, IT Risk and Security.
