Reporting to the Companies Material Manager assisting in supporting projects manage materials using the companies Material Management system.Duties to include but not limited to:-•Generation of BOMs from the 3D model & generation of 2D manual MTOs for ALL engineering disciplines.•Management of Piping BULK materials & production of BOMs.•Production of JMMS requisitions for enquiry through to purchase and issuance to the supply chain team.•Review of engineering technical requisitions ensuring scope identified is sufficient for material expediting/receiving activities for all disciplines. •Facilitates and liaises with the fabrication work shop, M&P (mechanical and piping), instrumentation and electrical contractors to ensure materials are available in line with the construction plan.•Management of fabrication facility, identifying shop fabrication work front material availability, ensuring fabrication facility can deliver in line with the construction program.•Spool management in Material Management System.•Co-ordination and management of BOMs for isometrics produced in the PDMS model, analysing the design, reconciliation of the material codes and material quantities in JMMS with those shown on the isometrics and those shown on the requisitions, working closely with the piping lead to discuss amendments.•Identification of material shortages and work front availability for both fabrication & installation.•Material matching activities performed in co-ordination with procurement and projects to facilitate the tracing and monitoring of material availability in line with construction planning. •Setup, maintenance and ongoing management of construction work packs in the material management system to facilitate downstream construction activities•Liaise with the project team to assist with the resolution of supply issues as and when required, working closely with lead expeditors in the management of 3rd party suppliers where material shortages occur to ensure timely replacement.•Ensures field construction material availability in line with agreed construction/discipline work packs, including electrical, mechanical and instrumentation materials. Essential:•Proven track record of material control on medium/large EPC projects preferably within EPC related environment on projects greater than £100m (preferable)•Proficient in the use of a material management system •Proficient in the use of work front reporting/material availability shortage reporting.•The role will require technical competence in line with engineering standards and be able to understand, interpret and/or annotate engineering drawings, datasheets, specifications & standards etc•Excellent analytical skills, strong commercial awareness, a measured approach to decision making and the ability to communicate at all levels.•Logical and critical thinker•Attention to detail is essential.•Knowledge of oil & Gas technology, engineering and the industry•Proficient with MS Office, especially ExcelDesirable:•Navigation of 3D modelling tools would be preferred but not essential as training can be provided.•Proficient in the use of the projects chosen material management system JMMS•Production of Access Databases would be desirable but not essential
