Site HSE Lead
(Location: Cairo, Egypt)

If you join our HSE team, you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Drive HSE requirements within site operations and provide HSE expertise and advice
  • Assess the HSE performance of our operations through field inspections and self-verification.
  • Drives safety culture improvement via a deep understanding of human performance, fostering
a culture of care.
  • Investigate incidents and near misses and develop solutions to address any identified HSE issues, ensuring a Human Factors Analysis is included in these investigations. Develops trends, insights and learnings
  • Lead Site HSE self-verification plan implementation
  • Ensure the closure of the site HSE regulatory compliance tasks (CTM)
  • Provide HSE training as planned
  • Manage HSE reporting, training and developing of regular HSE performance reports
  • Review and provide HSE inputs into Operations HSE risk profile/registers to ensure that workplace/operational hazards are properly documented and controlled
  • Provide leadership of regulatory requirements, HSE management system and procedures
  • Participate in organizing emergency drills and collecting post-drill feedback and reporting to improve and verify effective emergency preparedness
  • Intervenes on identified HSE issues & develop solutions to any identified HSE issues.
  • Verify the strength of operational barriers to preventing major incidents.
  • challenge and escalate any under-reporting
  • Support incident investigations as required to determine root causes and development of Preventive / corrective actions and coordinate responses with Leadership.
  • Manages and coordinates regular HSE meetings on the site to review the above trends, insights and learnings
  • Conduct HSE oversight of contractors activities
  • Support Control of Work implementation at site by attend Daily permit to work meetings to provide HSE inputs, participate in risk assessments, tool box talks and self-verification
  • Lead HSE related campaigns and programs


In the Site HSE Lead role the following education and requirements are essential:
  • Engineering or Science or Technical background is a must with minimum of 5 -10 years of experience in HSE management in Operations
  • Operational experience in Oil and Gas or another high hazard industry
  • Chartered Member of Institution of Occupational Safety & Health (CMIOSH) or Certified Safety Professional or equivalent
  • International / National NEBOSH Diploma is preferred
  • Technical knowledge and experience in hazard identification, with detailed knowledge of HSE practices and procedures, CoW, emergency response and delivery of safety programs
  • Strong HSSE commitment and willingness to be a proactive HSSE role model & leader
  • Excellent Arabic and English language knowledge
  • Willing to takes the lead, self-motivated and high performer
  • Highly effective interpersonal, written and oral communication skills with the ability to achieve results through appropriate influencing, motivation and delegation and to communicate with all levels of staff, regulators, contractors and suppliers
  • Strong interpersonal skills to lead, work within and coach Teams and build relationships and networks
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, project planning experience and the ability to work in a high activity environment with minimal supervision
