Purpose:


As an Intermediate MechanicalEngineer (Field) at WorleyParsons, the successful candidate will be a part of aglobal team that delivers excellent project services to our customers inAlberta and throughout the world.



Responsibilities:


  • Ensure that the construction work is carried out in accordance with the Contract specifications/drawings and in conformance with applicable regulations
  • Visual inspection and witness quality tests performed by the Contractor
  • Respond to technical queries/clarification received from the Contractor
  • Prepare Daily Reports and circulate to relevant stakeholders
  • Participate in Progress Meetings
  • Coordination of work and deliverables with other engineering disciplines and interaction with equipment fabricators and construction teams.
  • Perform analysis and calculations, conduct studies and prepare reports.
  • Compiling or participating in construction work packages.
  • Complete deliverables on schedule and within budget
  • This is a 3 month field position on a 3 week rotation (3 weeks at site and 1 week off) at a remote location. Working days are 12 hours/day.






What you will bring


 


Technical and Industry Experience: 

  • Minimum 4-6 years of relevant EPC or industry experience.
  • Field experience with bulk fuel storage tank facilities.
  • Well versed with API 653 requirements (API 653 inspector preferred)
  • Design experience for API 650 atmospheric tanks
  • Working knowledge of codes such as ASME, API, NACE, NFCC
  • Working knowledge of Canadian Welding Standards and testing requirements for storage tanks
  • Knowledge of ASME B31.3, ASME B16.5, ASME VIII, other ASME and API codes and industry best practices is an asset.
  • Knowledge of CSA B-51 requirements is an asset.
  • Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage priorities.
  • Experience in coordinating the work with other engineering disciplines and interaction with equipment fabricators & construction teams is an asset.
  • Knowledge of applicable theories, practices and accepted procedures.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Prior experience in an EPC environment is an asset.
  • Enthusiastic, self-motivated and able to work independently.
  • Good command of the English language, both verbal and written.
  • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel and Outlook.


Education Qualifications, Accreditation, Training:


Required:

  • B.Sc. Mechanical Engineering from an institution accredited by the Accreditation Board, Engineers Canada.
  • Registered as, or eligible to be registered as an Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with APEGA or NAPEG.
  • Eligible to work in Canada
