Job Overview

Reporting to the manager, maintenance execution, you will maintain high standards and processes in coordinating and prioritizing key maintenance in our upgrading area.

Key Accountabilities

  • Lead multi-disciplinary field execution of hourly and contract tradesmen employed in the repair, adjustment, modification, removal and/or installation of plant equipment and facilities while promoting safety and continuous improvement
  • Monitor contractor performance management and offer mentorship
  • Assist with materials or parts sourcing and procurement for found work and/or emergent work as needed
  • Oversee safety audits, promote safety initiatives and assist the supervisor with chairing morning toolbox talks and safety meetings
  • Collaborate with others to investigate maintenance-related incidents and implement findings
  • Communicate the daily work plan strategy with your supervisor and ensure jobs are in compliance and executed according to the job plan with meaningful quality control processes
  • Work with quality assurance / quality control personnel to ensure maintenance of standards

Required Qualifications

Experience and Education:

  • A minimum of two years of experience in supervision or field coordination in a multi-discipline trade environment
  • Experience conducting safety or incident investigations
  • Technical diploma or mechanical trade certification; attach your Journeyman / Red Seal ticket with your application if applicable
  • High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
  • Possess a valid drivers licence and a clean driving record

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Exceptional technical, decision-making and analytical skills
  • Strong computer skills including SAP, Excel and Word
  • Strong communication skills to form positive relationships with diverse groups of people competing for resources
  • Highly motivated and committed to achieving the best results and delivering the most value with the teams you work with
  • You hold others accountable, and expect others to do the same

Working Conditions

  • This position is safety sensitive
  • Your time will be split 80/20 with field and office-based work
  • The shift schedule is a 7 days on/7 days off rotation. A rotation of days and nights (7 days on, 7 days off, 7 nights on, 7 nights off; 12 hour shifts may be requested at a future date)
  • If you reside outside of Fort McMurray, relocation of your primary residence to within 60 km of Fort McMurray is mandatory
  • Relocation support will be provided; we offer highly competitive housing assistance to eligible candidates
