Responsibilities: As our Engineer I, you will: 1) Work under the direction of a supervisor or work leader and assist Gas Projects Managers and higher level Engineers on specific facets of their natural gas pipeline projects; Projects include the replacement of pipelines, upgrades of pressure regulating stations, compressor stations and extensions of new pipelines; 2) Perform engineering calculations, analysis, research and design; 3) Manage smaller, more routine projects (manage total project lifecycle from conception to final completion, including project scope, budget, milestones and deliverables); 4) Review design and construction plans to ensure adherence to design and construction standards; 5) Communicate with internal and external customers to obtain requirements and expectations for projects and to form preliminary estimates. Utilize various models, applications and records to select and scope gas pipeline replacement projects. 7) Analyze information from various sources in order to assist in the prioritization of proactive construction projects based on both risk and costs. 8) Interact with other engineers, modelers and operations managers on a regular basis in order to create and maintain a prioritized project plan that balances to an approved capital budget target. You will also perform field research, take measurements and photograph job sites. A valid driver's license is required. Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience Qualifications: Requires: Bachelors Degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited program and/or PE licensure. Engineering-related work experience is also required (Engineering-related internship experience can qualify).6 months minimum of related experience is required.Prefer candidates w/ professional engineering-related work experience.Preferences (If you meet one or more of the following preferences, we encourage you to tell us specifically how you meet these preferences on your resume.):1) Experience with engineering-related project tasks such as:- Preparing project cost estimates;- Preparing project schedules;- Performing and reviewing engineering calculations;- Applying engineering standards to a design;- Construction plan reading;- Supply chain management;- Reviewing plans submitted by third parties2) Leadership experience;3) Experience using AutoCAD or similar CAD platform(s);4) Experience using Microsoft Project and/or Microsoft Project Pro;5) Knowledge of Six Sigma or of Lean Six Sigma practicesOther required knowledge, skills, abilities and experience:1) Basic knowledge of engineering concepts, fundamentals and theories;2) Strong oral and written communication skills (includes technical writing);3) Effective decision-making skills;4) Computer skills and application of software programs (including Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint);5) Analytical and abstract thinking skills;6) Problem-solving skills;7) Ability to learn to apply engineering theories and concepts to complex problems;8) Ability to interpret codes, regulations and practices;9) Ability to develop effective planning, project and organizational skills;10) Ability to develop project management skills and to handle multiple tasks;11) Ability to work within a team environment as well as independently We will be accepting December 2017 and May 2018 graduates for this role.
