Jacobs are involved in the provision of multi-disciplinary design and engineering, requirements and systems engineering along with programme / project management, project controls and risk management to BAE Systems to support their Naval Ships Design programme. This work is being delivered predominantly from our Bristol and Glasgow locations.
Job Title: Engineering Manager - Data ManagementReports to: Engineering Manager - BOM and Data Integration; Engineering Manager Engineering Integration
Purpose of role:Reporting to the Engineering Manager - BoM and Data Integration, the Engineering Manager Data Management will cover Data Quality and Governance and will designate, roll out and manage the implementation of a standardised and measurable approach to Data Quality Management and Governance across the Hunter Class product lifecycle.  In undertaking the role the successful candidate will build on the existing data governance / assurance framework to ensure the principles embodied within that framework are delivered to the programme. He / she will integrate the activities of the Data Quality Team into the on-going Naval Ships Quality Plan / QMM activities. He / she will also establish a programme dashboard for the quality measurement of project critical data.  
Key Technical Skills •Experience in implementing Data Governance and Quality Management•Experience in Data Management and PLM systems and the quality measurement of data•Experience in using Data Management / Governance toolsets.•Experience in complex Engineering Projects.•Experience of multi discipline Projects. •Experience of MoD / Customer Mgmt and working with international customers. •Excellent IT skills particularly MS Project; MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and Visio 
Key Leadership/People Mgmt Skills •Strong team leadership skills•Positive communication skills, and problem solving competence. •Engineering competence, with high levels of energy and self-motivation.  •An ability to communicate clearly & concisely both verbally & written at any level•People development and performance management
Key Interpersonal/Behavioural Skills •Ability to influence and motivate multi-disciplinary project teams within a complex engineering environment. •Ability to and work on own initiative
Key Mental/Analytical Skills and ChallengesAble to collate, analyse and act upon complex and diverse information from a variety of sources and produce good quality management data for director level decision making
Company/Industry Knowledge:Experience in implementing and developing Data Quality Management / Governance in a similar sized organisation6-10 years senior engineer / engineering management experience preferably in a shipbuilding or engineering environment.Membership of the Data Management Association and/or familiarity with the DAMA Body of Knowledge (DMBoK) (Preferred but not essential)
Qualifications:Degree or equivalent in appropriate subject. CEng desirable.
