Contracts Manager
This global power systems company is involved in the design, supply, construction, commissioning and servicing of Power Generation & Power Transmission Systems.
Their small UK subsidiary is responsible for ensuring the support of the business by providing procurement, engineering, sales & marketing and contract management services to their operations in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
The scope of the UK subsidiary would include the import, export and sales of heavy industrial, electrical and electronic products. This would extend to the supervision of equipment installations, testing and maintenance and post-contract reviews.
Job Purpose - Contracts Manager:
- To provide Contract Management and Administration services to protect the company's commercial position and to ensure the completion and hand-over of the works to budget, specification and on schedule
- Support Sales / BD functions by preparing the commercial aspects of proposals and ensuring risk management
- Ensure that the Department’s commercial processes are fit for purpose and appropriately managed
Key Areas Summary - Contracts Manager:
- Management of Contracts including variations and changes, Preparation, Presentation, Management & Negotiation of Claims, Monitoring of Project progress, progress payments and cash flows, Project Administration & Execution
- Support Business Development and Sales
- Preparation of Contract Documents, Contractual Correspondence and notices
- Risk Analysis & Management
- Advise on Contractual matters, forms of Contract and Agreements
- Prepare Business Planning and Reporting
- Review & Evaluation of Tenders and Contract Documents
Personal Qualities / Experience:
- International Experience (especially those that have experience working in the African Market)
- Hardworking / Hands-on
- Good commercial knowledge
- Good negotiation skills
- Good Communication & Organisational Skills (not afraid to do the more mundane day to day admin work that is required in all jobs)
- Flexible and willing to travel (the business covers Europe, Africa & the Middle East – although predominately Europe & Africa)
- Proven track record of success
- Can hit the ground running (particularly in Africa)
- Patient with a good understanding of different cultures
