Shell Nederland Chemie (SNR) Moerdijk is a key strategic Chemicals Manufacturing site consisting of a Naphtha cracker complex, 2 Styrene/Propylene Oxide plants, an Ethylene Oxide and derivatives plant, Utilities and General facilities. The site employs around 850 Shell staff and 500 contract staff.

Moerdijk is a modern, world scale, fully integrated manufacturing site and presents a wide range of professional and managerial challenges and opportunities. Moerdijk is connected to Pernis by pipelines for the exchange of feedstock and intermediates. Customers are served by pipeline, ship, rail or road tanker.

For this dynamic location we are currently looking for an Employee & Industrial Relations (ER/IR) Advisor to join our team.

Whats the role?
As an ER/IR Advisor you will translate the global ER/IR philosophy to local Strategy to create a healthy employee relations climate, in which building strong employee engagement is a key success factor. 

In the role you manage the relationship with the Moerdijk Staff Council and develop and leverage relationship with internal Employee Representative bodies. You support General Management and HR Manager by ensuring a smooth ER process by acting as trusted advisor and offering coaching for Line Managers in the area of ER/IR, consultation and organizational change and work in close collaboration with the HR Manager on site, acting as a deputy.
 
You develop and execute specific culture- and work environment programs and drive an inclusive workforce as part of the overall D&I agenda for the location.

Job Requirements:

What we need from you 
In your resume we hope to find evidence of extensive HR professionalism that helps protect our license to operate and shows us that you are an expert on employee engagement and employee & industrial relations, able to identify and understand local external market trends (economic, political, social) and derives insights to effectively drive a long-term ER/IR environment.

You thrive by acting as a Subject Matter Expert in country-specific ER/IR legislation, regulations, directives, practices and processes and pro-actively distill key themes and value drivers from complex and sometimes conflicting data and insights.

You have strong relationship and influencing skills to effectively manage a broad range of stakeholders including 3rd party bodies and government agencies and demonstrated ability to work effectively with staff at all different seniority levels.
Previous experience with working in a Manufacturing environment is preferable; excellent Dutch language skills is a must.
