1) Main Responsibilities
·Responsible to Head of Contracts for the sound and highly professional management and administration of assigned contracts, including particularly each main construction contract.
· Provide input to Head of Contracts and Head of Project Services for the strategy to manage the costs and schedules of the construction contracts.
· Analyzing contractual correspondence from contractors, researching issues raised, and preparing responses that have a sound contractual basis in all respects.
·Providing other members of the Project Management Team (PMT) with sound and professional contractual and commercial advice.
·Preparation and negotiation of Requests for Contract Actions, Change Orders/ Contract Modifications, applicable Certificates, and other documents required by the respective contracts.
·Checking and agreeing monthly valuations/applications for payment from contractors.
·Evaluation of all proposed/ potential Change Orders/ Contract Modifications, and close coordination with Estimator to determine a contractually sound basis for negotiation of entitlements with contractors.
·Recording and maintaining all relevant contractual commercial information accurately and timeously within Change Management System.
Minimum of 10 years experience in hands-on administration of complex construction/ EPC/ EPCI contracts, preferably with quantity surveyor qualification/ experience. Experience in dealing successfully with contentious change request/ claim issues.
Solid ability to analyze complex contractual documents and determine objectively the true rights, entitlements, obligations and duties of the respective parties.
Strong English language skills, particularly with regard to understanding and interpreting contracts and related documents; and in analyzing and drafting contractual correspondence.
