Job Overview

Do you have experience with contracts administration? Reporting to the project development lead, supply chain management (SCM), you will support the development of project-specific SCM execution plans, including the formulation of sourcing strategies, commercial strategies, procurement plans and contracting plans through the various ADEM stages of the project.

 Key Accountabilities

  • Support the strategies development, procurement, contract formation and contract management activities
  • Build positive relationships with the front-end project execution team, identifying project priorities to provide effective SCM support for successful project execution
  • Provide support to the integrated project team on all SCM-related matters
  • Develop an understanding of the project ADEM deliverables and gated process ensuring appropriate communication / escalation of any identified irregularities in the project execution
  • Liaise with and facilitate discussions amongst various project stakeholder / integrated team members for effective performance of SCM activities
  • Liaise with other Suncor functional groups (e.g., Category Management, Commercial, Legal, Enterprise Technical, etc.), for appropriate expertise and support and to ensure best practice and alignment
  • Ensure appropriate contractors pre-qualification, build, implement and administer supply, contracts and service agreements to completion and close out
  • Implement and maintain tracking systems and ensure signing authorities are adhered to for commitments
  • Communicate and document SCM decisions and potential impacts
  • Verify contractors invoices in compliance with established procedures and certify and approve the invoices; support contractor performance assessments ensuring completion of such assessments prior to contract close out
  • Apply change management process for contracts ensuring documentation is coordinated with the functional groups
  • Assist in the preparation of claims defense cases
  • Support the warranty management process

Required Qualifications

Experience and Education:

  • Three or more years of experience in a contracts administration role with a focus on oil and gas, mining, or utilities
  • Post-secondary education in business or supply chain management

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (especially Excel)
  • Preference for a working knowledge of SAP
  • You have a deep understanding of contract management, contract and procurement law
  • You are able to handle multiple priorities, tight deadlines and have the ability to process numbers accurately
  • You are someone with logical thinking, good judgement and decision-making skills
  • Well-developed verbal and written communication and time management skills
  • You act with integrity, are committed to doing the right thing and collaborate well across diverse groups
