Planning & Performance Analyst in United States

Job profile summary:

The primary function of the Planning, Performance and Reporting (PPR) analyst will be forecasting, five year plan updates, annual plans and submission of variance analysis. The ideal candidate would have strong analytical and communications skills to interface with Joint venture partners as well as corporate business units.

The PPR analyst will be required to lead discussions with the individual refinery business units on overall cost forecasting, planning and variance analysis. The purpose of the role is to provide absolute transparency and clarity to cost centre owners, joint venture partners and corporate on trends, performance and analytics.

In addition to the planning and performance role, the candidate should have a continuous improvement mindset and a natural curiosity to learn systems, processes and data analytics.

The successful candidate will -

  • Partner with stakeholders in Supply, North America PPR, and Global Refining VP Office
  • Communicate key commercial drivers and sources of value within Toledo
  • Lead performance discussions within the plant, including learning sessions for teams from new joiners and engineers to Front Line Leaders to regular interactions with the Toledo Leadership Team

Key Accountabilities:

  • Provide support in Solomon submission years
  • Accountable for completing and submitting five year plan, budget and forecasts
  • Analytics on performance, reliability and trends
  • Provide cost guidance to budget owners
  • Accountable for providing variance commentary and performance metrics
  • Accountable for managing communication around Quarterly performance reviews and monthly business reviews including JV communication slide packs.
  • Key interface with Chicago PPR, Segment Finance and JV Finance
  • Provide updates to working capital, inventory and pricing environments

Essential Education:

  • Bachelors Degree in Finance, Accounting, other business discipline or Engineering
  • CPA/CFA/MBA would be an asset
  • 5+ years of experience in Finance, Commercial, or similar roles within the energy or comparable manufacturing / commodity sectors like mining
