Job Description:
Major Oil and Gas Operator has a requirement for a Human Factors Engineering Specilaist. This is a part time position, working 2-3 days per week. Initially this will be a 4 month contract.
The successful candidate will,
Develop & execute the Human Factors Implementation Plan on the Project.
Provide help and advice to the contractor to ensure that clients expectations are met through the design and construction of the facilities.
Work with the CEngineering teams to develop and fully implement the HFE Specifications in design and construction.
Participate in 3D model reviews.
Ensure Contractor executes the HFE risk assessments specified in the HES workscope.
Review CVs and approve choice of consultants for the studies.
Attend studies and ensure that the correct skill sets are present at each study.
Lead the studies of the control room and emergency command centre.
Ensure that the Contractor implements the results of these studies.
Provide input to the design of the display screens and lead the alarm objectives analysis to ensure that alarms are properly rationalized and fit for purpose.
Provide HFE input into the accommodation design to ensure that legislative requirements and company expectations are met.
Lead the architectural work to ensure that the requirements of the Human Factors Implementation Plan are met.
Preferred Skills
Thorough understanding of the UK regulatory regime and UK codes and standards. Thorough understanding of human error, its causes and means of prevention. Experienced in the application of Human Factors Engineering to an offshore facilities and control room environment. Experience in applying HFE principals to the designs of controls and displays, including Human-Machine Interface. Experience in the application of risk assessment as it applies to human factors and strong interpersonal skills, strong communication skills both written and verbal. Demonstrated ability to get work done through others.
Education
Appropriate certification required.
