Job Description

Our client is a leading engineering and construction business with operations across the globe. They are a bluechip organisation with a pedigree for success and for delivering complex projects in challenging locations. They have a high calibre professional staff who they look after and develop.

They have recently been awarded an onshore windfarm as part of their renewable energy business development. This windfarm is about 50km outside of the capital city of Ulaan Baatar in Mongolia. The project is Design & Build, therefore our client is now looking for an experienced electrical engineer to join their team to be involved in both the design and project delivery of this scheme.

The duties and responsibilities for the role will include:

  • Supervise the installation of substation equipment and high voltage switchgear along with the installation of wind turbine transformers and site wide underground cabling
  • Manage the design consultant (in Hong Kong) to ensure design meets design intent and that design packages are assembled for their timely submission and approval
  • Supervise and coordinate with the electrical contractor during installation and commissioning
  • Promote a safe working environment and ensure the installation contractor meets all safety requirements

The candidate requirements are as follows:

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience on high voltage switchgear / substation installation
  • Prior experience with substation SCADA and controls
  • Bachelor degree in electrical engineering or equivalent is preferred but not essential
  • Wind energy experience is desirable
  • Proven ability to work in a high pressure environment and meet deadlines
  • Experience in technical coaching with strong communication skills
  • Team oriented demeanour and integrity
  • Able to work transparently and culturally sensitive

Working/ living conditions/annual leave etc to be discussed at interview stage. Salary approx. USD10,000 p/month net, depends on their seniority of coursewith accommodation and transport provided by company provident fund/medical insurance
