Reports to: Project Director/ Senior Project Engineer/ Engineering Manager / PMT Directly supervises: Trainee Project Engineers/ Graduate Engineers The role and accountabilities may include but are not limited to: The Project Engineer is a key member of the Project Engineering team, seeking to use their technical and professional experience to execute and support the delivery of our projects and to assist in the tender teams. The types of Activity will include • Client Interface • FEED support • Consent support/ Environmental Assessments of our proposals • Procurement & Subcontractor management. • Regulatory Compliance • Project Specific Design Work • Project Manager Support • Cost Analysis for Tenders and Changes. Occasionally travel offshore for short periods with the installation vessel to oversee critical operations or gain experience Project Work • Ensure the quality of work issued is high and conforms to Group procedures. • To interface with the Client including the preparation of tender documents, project reports and other Engineering documents as required. • To act as Package Engineer for allocated procured materials and services. Acting in line with contracting principles • Preparation of ITT, technical assessment of proposals received and technical support for placement of PO and subcontracts • Supervision of external and internal suppliers performing subcontracted scopes of work including confirmation of progress against schedule and review of output to ensure completion in accordance with project specifications and Company Engineering Standards • Prepare methods for the project and any installation procedures, task plans and guidance. • Compilation of all certification and other records for inclusion in the as-built dossier • To co-ordinate the delivery of allocated designs, reports and other engineering tasks in accordance with the contract, scope of work, agreed specifications standards & regulations, safety policies and in line with best engineering practice. • Interface with Drawing Office to ensure timely preparation of drawings required for inclusion in engineering documents and procedures • To act as Interface Engineer for issued work to other internal technical support teams and confirm the output is in compliance with project deliverable requirements • To identify project risks associated with the allocated engineering tasks. Ensure that they are mitigated as far as reasonably practicable and provide updates to the risk register • Present allocated engineering task project engineering details at Technical Review, Operations Review and HIRA • Provide support for the training and development of Trainee Project Engineers and Graduates assisting on allocated engineering tasks or other activities or project teams • Identification and notification to Project Manager and Contracts Engineer of any additional works or changes that constitute a variation • Within Project undertake other tasks as delegated by the PMT or Engineering Manager Profile: Must have: • Fluency in written and spoken English • Experience in a Project Engineering Role in a similar sector. • Knowledge of the Renewables, Oil & Gas or Civil sectors and the methods of work • The ability to develop and put forward new and better ways of doing things. Including challenging established ways of doing things by suggesting better alternatives. • Understanding of the relevant regulations and approval processes • Competent with standard software packages, email, word, Excel and MS Powerpoint • Competent in the communication of information • Competent in the use of software packages appropriate to the role Nice to have: • Degree within relevant engineering based discipline i.e. Electrical, Mechanical, Civil or Structural Engineering • Masters or other postgraduate qualification in subject Engineering Discipline • IEng or CEng membership of a relevant Engineering Institute • Experience in offshore renewables. • Competence in a related Engineering Discipline (Geotechnical, Civil, Structural, Offshore Logistics, Mechanical or Civil Engineering)
