Hays Energy are working on behalf of a leading energy organisation who are market leaders in the UK for Power networks including overhead lines, substations and cabling. This organisation are currently working on a huge number of high value projects across the central belt of Scotland and have future investments worth billions in this specialist industry. We are currently seeking a Power Systems Designer for the expert major projects team based in Glasgow. This role has become available due to company growth and will involve the assessment of transmission and distribution systems. This role includes assessing the power systems and evaluating the projects needs. It is also expected that you will produce financial authorisation papers for technically approved schemes along with providing specialist engineering support to other departments, business’s and third parties.

Candidates are expected to be from an power system design background from 11KV to 400KV and have softwear package experience from the power networks industry (preferably P/SSE). You will also have commercial awareness and extensive knowledge of the transmission and distribution system policies and procedures. You will have a minimum of electrical engineering degree and 2 year plus experience in the market. This role is looking at several levels of candidates so the salary is negotiable depending on experience.
