Job Description

Tender Engineer (Staff) Rotterdam, The Netherlands

Responsibilities of the Tender Engineer are:

  • Delivery of allocated engineering within the Central Engineering department and Tender department;
  • Assisting and aiding in reinforcing, checking and expanding the company's standard engineering procedures/processes and documents;
  • Act as the interface on a Project Team for Client and Suppliers / Subcontractor Engineers relating to allocated engineering tasks;
  • Completion of allocated project tasks in compliance with Engineering Standards, Safety Policies and Assurance objectives;
  • Actively support to other engineers when required;
  • Prepare installation engineering calculations to determine suitable installation methodologies and limiting criteria in accordance with project specifications and Engineering Standards for task allocated;
  • Prepare method statements and tender documentation after reviewing best practice for similar operations;
  • Interface with Drawing Office to ensure timely preparation of drawings required for inclusion in tender engineering documents and method statements;
  • Prepare deck equipment layouts;
  • Preparation of RFQ, technical assessment of proposals received and technical support for placement of PO and subcontracts in compliance with commercial principles;
  • Specification and ordering of suitable installation equipment for the calculated loads, etc. from internal and external suppliers;
  • Present allocated engineering task project engineering details at Tender Review and Client clarification meetings;
  • Interface with Client, Independent Verification Authority and Marine Warranty Surveyor to satisfactorily resolve any comments on documents issued as part of allocated engineering tasks;
  • Interface with marine department and vessel to obtain approvals for deck layouts, deck loading and issue of lift certificates for tenders where applicable.

Requirements for this position:

  • Bachelor or Master degree or equivalent in a relevant Engineering or Science based discipline;
  • 5 years tendering experience, proven track record of tendering EPIC work in the oil and gas industry for a leading offshore oil and gas contractor;
  • Current Offshore Survival & Medical;
  • Offshore Construction Experience;
  • Good knowledge of English language both written and spoken;
  • Ability to prioritise the workload;
  • Willingness to travel when required;
  • Hands-on mentality;
  • Good working knowledge of all Microsoft programmes;
  • Good working knowledge of AutoCAD, MathCAD and MS Project.
