Job Description

Senior Tendering Engineer The Tender Engineering team's remit is to develop robust and economic technical solutions for tenders, in-line with Client expectations, with proper risk assessed cost estimates and contingency. To fulfil this remit, it is essential that the right expertise is available to the group and for this reason our recruitment focus is on attracting high performing individuals from within the oil and gas industry that bring the right balance of expertise, experience and enthusiasm. Tender Engineers liaise with the Sales & Marketing team, nominated tender project manager, engineering disciplines and installation engineers to produce the deliverables required for tender submission. Main Duties and Responsibilities: Co-ordinate all activities of the engineering team to develop the technical solution to allow the proposals group to build a cost base. Responsible for co-ordination and review of engineering tender deliverables. The main point of contact during the tender process. Work with others to compile the Project Management, Engineering Management and Engineering man-hours (CTR). Develop documentation for tender submission . Oversee development of schedules for engineering, procurement, fabrication and offshore installation. Oversee the review of Client documentation and determine overall technical compliance, producing technical clarifications and qualifications as necessary. Oversee technical input to supply chain procurement enquiries and evaluations, liaising with Sales & Marketing and C&P functions. Summarise and present technical solution as part of technical and management reviews. Participate in face to face clarifications and presentations with clients. Identify and mitigate commercial risks related to the proposed technical solutions Management Provide leadership for all engineers in group to ensure the delivery of quality work. Ensure all engineering personnel are aware of BMS (Business Management System). Interface with discipline leads and / or group leads to ensure deliverable schedule is being met and budget is on track. Technical Ensure all documents are checked and approved and have relevant IDC or SDC circulations. Manage activities on tender engineering schedule to ensure compliance. Responsible to Project Manager for delivery to project of all engineering requirements. Responsible for ensuring that standard of engineering services provided complies with corporate standards and processes and Client specifications along with appropriate legislation. Commercial / Financial Develop CTR catalogues Develop & manage man-hour estimates and engineering schedule both historical (as spent) but also to have an accurate forecast of what is required to complete work scope. Tenders Prepare close-out and lessons learnt reports. Maintain Risk Register - provide input on technical and safety risks. Chair kick-off meeting and regular engineering meetings with tender team and client. Manage tender deliverables documents. Prepare Basis of Design and maintain revision register. Prepare input to engineering sections of progress reports. Attend tender meetings with fabricator and key equipment suppliers. Identify project resource requirements and liaise with Corporate engineering Manger to ensure availability and allocation. Identify and quantify any client engineering changes to contract. Promote and facilitate project team awareness of company QA and HSE procedures. Ensure that all procedures and methods of work developed have considered the safety of personnel and assets to minimise loss. Manage internal and external engineering interfaces. Develop and maintain interface register. Facilitate team spirit with tender team. Act as focal point for engineering interface with BA. Collate and review engineering man-hours, deliverables and schedule. Ensure that there is adequate engineering support to procurement. This will typically include items such as Line pipe, Flanges, Fittings, Bolts, Gaskets, Valves, Controls, Umbilicals and Flexibles. Similarly to procurement, accept responsibility for all technical and delivery aspects of fabrication. Qualifications and Education Degree in an engineering discipline is essential Can articulate learning and training experiences Skills Technical (including IT): Good general use of IT packages such as Microsoft Office, essential. Interpersonal: Sound communication skills, oral, written and electronic, essential. Presents self in a professional manner appropriate to the role, essential. Team player, desirable. Self Management: Demonstrable ability to work within time/budget constraints, essential. Commitment to CPD Produces work of high quality which is presentable to Clients, essential. Good organisational skills and smart working methods are desirable. Experience: Previous subsea experience at a Senior level, essential. Experience managing interfaces with different departments, is essential. Subsea pipe lay and construction experience is desirable. Managerial Experience: The ability to lead a bid team across multiple disciplines is essential. The ability to prioritise own and others' workload, manage time and change control accordingly and direct team members where constraints will affect a bid programme or budget is essential. Knowledge: Technical knowledge of pipeline design, construction & installation techniques, subsea umbilical/control systems, subsea structures through to project delivery, essential.

Bachelors Degree or equivalent, Direct Experience or equivalent
