Our client, one of the world’s leading engineering, project management and consultancy companies is currently recruiting for a Senior Structural Analyst
Key aims and bjectives
• Provide technical expertise in the form of finite element or other similar analytical
methods to design or assess structures, mechanical equipment, components, etc.
• Assist in developing the porfolio of work undertaken by the Advanced Engineering
Services group.
Prime responsibilities and duties
• Undertake analysis and design activities to required level of detail, within budget and onschedule.
• Present results, both written and verbal, in a professional manner.
• Assist in the preparation of workscopes, bids and proposals.
Qualifications/Training Essential:
• Minimum UK Bachelors Degree or equivalent in appropriate engineering subject.
Desirable:
• Chartered engineer and member of appropriate engineering institution
Experience Essential:
• Experienced engineer with a strong technical and analytical background, respected for past achievements.
• Experienced in the use of finite element methods for the design and assessment ofstructures for both strength and fatigue.
• Experienced in the use of design and assessment methods used within the discipline.
• Strong working knowledge of the appropriate codes of practice, standards and industry guidelines.
• Working knowledge of SESAM, ABAQUS and PATRAN software packages.
Desirable:
• Working knowledge of Shell structural design standards.
• Working knowledge of computational methods and design standards suitable for the assessment of large plate girder structures.
• Involved in industry/educational seminars and activities.

• Technically competent in undertaking advanced finite element analyses and/or fitness for purpose assessments.
• Competent in the use of analytical and numerical methods used within the discipline including an understanding of the theoretical background of analysis software.
