Job Description

You will be accountable to the Planning Manager and be responsible for:

§ Setting challenging yet deliverable targets in conjunction with the Project Manager for the construction teams based on historically agreed benchmarks in support of the overall construction programme.
§ Working in conjunction with the risk management and value engineer to produce and manage the risk, issue and opportunity register for assigned projects within the change management process.
§ Confirming that outage plans and National Grid specific resources are booked in conjunction with the outage and resource co-ordinator.
§ Leading the development of specific programme policies, procedures and standards and contribute best practice experience to others being developed.
§ Developing plans in line with the policies, procedures and standards and act as a knowledge advisor to Project Managers during plan development
§ Ensuring Safety, Health, Environment and Security (SHES) aspects of all schemes within sphere of responsibility are managed and focused to continually improve performance.
§ Working in conjunction with the Programme team, taking responsibility for meeting agreed business targets, controls and operating costs in achieving investment plans, managing risks effectively and delivering all agreed outputs, within the agreed economics and safety regulatory framework.
§ Ensuring team members receive appropriate communications.
§ Identifying and achieving appropriate programme resources.
§ Contributing to the identification and formulation of strategic objectives.

§ Degree level education or equivalent

The successful candidate should posses the following:
§ P6, although P6 based on P3E.
§ Experience at a project programmer level.
§ Demonstrated successful capability in:
o People management
o Financial management
o Programme & Change management
o Commercial acumen
o Effective communication skills including the ability to make persuasive presentations to small and large audiences
o Strong negotiating and influencing skills
o Ability to build relationships across all levels of the organisation
§ Full clean driving licence.
§ A requirement to work away from home on occasions

Qualifications
HNC or equivalent
