We are looking to recruit a Lead / Principal Piping Stress Engineer to join the North West office on an agency contact hire basis.

Candidates need experience on Front End and Detailed Design. Long Term Projects currently secured for South Africa and Peru in the Chemical and Oil & Gas Industry.

Minimum 6-12 months duration office based near Manchester. Opportunities for overtime, competitive market rates paid.

• · An experienced pipe stress engineer fully conversant with Caesar II and the piping design codes, ASME B31.1, ASME B31.3 & BS 806
• · The successful candidate will lead a piping stress team’s input into major domestic and international projects, and must have experience of leading a piping stress team on multi-discipline projects.
• · To ensure all work carried out conforms with agreed codes and practices, meets all requirements of the contracts specification and ensure all work is carried out within agreed schedules, budgets and procedures in safe manner.
• · Provision of expert ‘know how’ (applicable to the discipline) as input to detailed design, basic engineering and conceptual engineering.
• · Technical direction, advice and control of the discipline work. Liaison with client discipline representatives to establish technical direction where not provided by codes and standards
• · Knowledge and experience of working with seismic conditions.

Requirements –

• · Degree or HNC/OND/BTEC (or equiv.) substantial project design experience
• · Excellent technical communication and co-ordination skills.
• · Diploma of engineering or equivalent
• · Substantial proven experience of detailed piping stress design gained with design contractors
• · A thorough knowledge of the codes and standards and a good piping stress design for chemical / oil and gas facilities.
