Job Description
Barclaymeade's Oil & Gas client based in Houston are currently looking to recruit an NA Accountant on a staff basis.

JOB PURPOSE
To review accounting records for all of NA, by ensuring necessary documentation is recorded in a timely manner and relevant reconciliations are up to date and preparing management accounts and all supporting functions for all entities in NA as well as providing support to the Controller on special projects where required.

Directly Reports to:Financial Controller

KEY ACTIVITIES

1.Nominal Ledger
•Maintain the financial ledger, producing regular reports to deadlines for internal, external and year end purposes.
•Ensure adequate control over all financial entries, processes and procedures.
•Reconcile balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis.
•Finalize Sales Tax/Local Tax Returns and comply with local requirements.

2.Sales Ledger
•Maintain customer master records.
•Raise I/C and third party invoices and review margins of projects.
•Post cash receipts, review sales ledger monthly for close process and consolidate entities for NA AR listing.
•Contact customers who have overdue balances requesting payment and deal with any queries raised.

3.Purchase Ledger
•Review overall NA AP where necessary ensuring all costs are correctly allocated by GL code and dimension.
•Analyse P&L as required.

4.Payroll
•Post Payroll journals and liaise with payroll bureau
•Manage and resolve personal payroll issues

5.Management Accounts
•Finalise monthly management accounts to trial balance stage for all NA entities with detailed report on Region analysis for review by the Controller.
•Assist Controller with Group cashflow management.
•Prepare monthly reports for departmental managers providing understanding cost breakdown/margins on jobs for all NA entities.
•Ensure all monthly journals are posted, including depreciation, accruals and prepayments.
•Ensure all foreign balance accounts have been revalued as necessary.
•Ensure documentation is accurately filed with relevant backup.
•Prepare monthly report for review by Controller.

6.Budget / Reforecast Preparation
•Assist operations in margin and costing analysis
•Prepare annual budget for NA entities for Review by Tendeka Controller
•Compile relevant reports as required by senior management to aid in formulation of departmental budgets.
•Ensure accurate input of data into accounting system to aid in variance reporting on a monthly basis.

7.Financial Accounts
•Compile relevant reports as required by senior management to aid in satisfactory completion of audit and tax returns.
•Assist auditors/tax advisors with any queries.
•Assist in compilation of any required audit schedules.

QUALIFICATIONS

Essential:Degree level qualified in Accounting or equivalent speciality.
Preferred:CPA with at least 3 years qualified experience preferred.

EXPERIENCE / COMPETENCE / SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE

Essential:
•Proven track record of delivering results within an organisation in a finance role preferably oil sector. Candidate must have worked in a multi entity environment and have experienced consolidation and concepts of elimination.
•Knowledge of manufacturing to basic levels and interaction with inventory sub ledger.
•Up to date knowledge of current financial law, accounting principles and basic internal controls
•Demonstrate excellent communication skills, along with an ability to work in a team environment.
•Highly organised with the ability to prioritise, work unsupervised and exercise initiative to resolve potential problems and meet deadlines. Ability to work on own initiative with minimum level of supervision.
•Must demonstrate competency in IT application tools but especially Microsoft office
•Ability to travel if required

Preferred:
•Good working knowledge of Sage/Navision or equivalent finance package
•Ability to develop and implement defined systems of work in an international finance role
