Job Description

Key responsibilities of this position include:

  • Represent and safeguard company's position and interests in commercial negotiations with third parties.
  • Negotiate commercial agreements on sound commercial terms and avoid or mitigate exposure of company to risks and liabilities.
  • Provide advice on commercial matters as requested by company and its departments to ensure company business and commercial decisions are made on sound commercial terms and to avoid or mitigate exposure to risks and liabilities.
  • Assist in researching and compiling commercial information as requested by Commercial Manager.
  • Assist in identifying business development opportunities and researching new acreage opportunities and issues as they arise including the purchase or acquisition of new businesses.
  • Assist in managing specialist marketing, pricing, due diligence and legal consultancies, studies and research if and when required.
  • Act as an advocate for company at meetings and Conferences.
  • Participate in project workshops and meetings as required.
  • Work closely with company's legal, finance, tax, insurance and technical teams to ensure robust commercial outcomes are achieved for the Company.
  • Liaise with relevant departments of company Corporation in Tokyo.
  • Lead and coordinate commercial processes including negotiations and internal review processes.

The following Qualifications and Experience are a requirement of this position:

  • Degree qualified in a Technical, Commerce, Legal or other relevant discipline.
  • 4 years experience in a similar role within the oil and gas industry.
  • Experience working with and influencing oil and gas joint ventures.
  • Be a skilled negotiator.
  • Extensive understanding of oil and gas valuation metrics.
  • Deep knowledge of joint venture agreements including LNG shipping and marketing.
  • Highly accomplished communication and presentation skills.
  • Highly computer literate, self sufficient practitioner.
  • Attention to detail with a service ethos for internal clients.
  • Respect and understanding of other cultures.
  • Commitment to team work.
Qualifications
Bachelors Degree or equivalent
