Job Description
Major oil and gas operator seeking a Knowledge Management Consultant to work part time (about 25 hours per week, on call) in West Houston.
A Knowledge Management Consultant proactively works within a client team or across client teams of various sizes, assessing how client's Knowledge Management processes can be effectively applied. The Knowledge Management Consultant works with client's Knowledge Management Authority to effectively maintain and deliver Knowledge Management within proven client accounts
Leading learning workshops, including lessons capture workshops and knowledge management planning sessions, of varying size groups as needed
Coaching and enabling client personnel to ensure that Knowledge Management tools and practices are effectively utilized, specifically including the tools and practices related to lessons capture
Conducting gap assessments and working with the client to set meaningful Knowledge Management goals and targets, as needed
Support of Communities of Practice / Networks and Question and Answer Forums as needed; including the definition and development of Best Practices
Maintenance and administration of centralized lessons capture application, to support lessons capture work for all teams
Support of an Internal Yellow Pages as needed
Effective ongoing communication with the BPs Knowledge Management Authority including monthly update reports
Collaboration with client's Knowledge Management Authority to share learnings generated from all work
Essential
Strong communication and presentation skills. Experience in meeting facilitation absolutely essential.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities in a calm, professional manner
5-7 years experience, preferably in a Fortune 500 company.
A bachelor degree in Accounting, Business Administration or Engineering. MBA preferred.
Preferred
Experience in the energy industry, preferably in Upstream / Exploration and Production.
Some experience in the area of team optimization or continuous improvement.
