Our Client, an international Oil & Gas operator company is currently seeking a Water Well Supervisor on a short term contract to assist their Geotechnical Survey Team with managing the drilling and pup testing of a deep water well on Onslow, WA. This position is office based but will required extensive periods of time in the filed overseeing the well drilling and flow testing.
The position will report directly to the Geotechnical Survey Manager located in the Perth Office and will work very closely with the Survey Field Rep and the Field HES Rep.
Key responsibility:
- Monitors and when necessary directs and controls drilling operations, rig move, service activities and emergency response at the drilling rig on a 12 hours a day basis.
- Inspects and checks drilling rig, equipment, material stock, and work performance of crew, including service contractors repair and maintenance activities on the rig.
- Reviews and checks drilling programme.
- Reviews drilling service contractors detailed operational procedures and requirements at every step of drilling operations
- In conjunction with the drilling contractor prepares and delivers daily and weekly drilling operations report including various drilling parameters, productive and non productive hours, material supply and consumption, costs, HES and other associated information.
- Ensures that Contractor maintains the rig and their equipment at maximum efficiency minimizing down-time
- Act as operational liaison between the company office and contractor field personnel, resolve any immediate technical issues in the field where possible and advise management team of progress & planning, forecasting progress and completion dates to identify any issues such as possible standby, and in general to maximise efficient, safe operations.
- Act as company representative during field safety & operational meetings, to build an active Incident and Injury Free (IIF) culture
- Provide input into contractors work procedures to ensure safe operations and maximise efficiencies.
- Liaise with various other teams both in field and in Perth office, to facilitate water well drilling operations, such as GIS, Environmental, Permitting, PGPA etc.
- Ensure all HES & contractual issues are monitored & complied with.
- Oversee Contractor's analysis and reporting of the water well test, and preparation of licence application for long term water extraction
Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years well engineering experience of which at least a period of 5 years served as Drilling Supervisor.
- Strong focus on onshore Water Well drilling
- HES Supervisory Training
- Extensive HES on site experience
- Strong Operational and Supervision background
