VC 7939 Head of Well Services and Well Technology - Almaty Kazakhstan

Local/Expat position.
Our client is looking to recruit a Head of Well Services and Well Technology for their Almaty office. The Head of Well Services and Well Technology will report to the Drilling Manager. The successful candidate must be able to interact with other disciplines motivate people. Being a good team player with good communication skills is a firm requirement. The department strives to become a more integrated and active part of the corporate Clients Oil Drilling Teams in Denmark Qatar and UK etc therefore knowledge about operations in some of these areas is beneficial.

THE ROLE
• Mentor and supervise a group of 5-10 people field and office personnel.
• In charge of programs and supervision of workover and completion operations.
• Maximize artificial lift while minimizing costs for flowing ESP and beampumped wells.
• Review completion designs and installation procedures with associated automation and make recommendations for further improvements.

RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABLITIES
• Lead a team of national and expatriate engineers to accomplish assigned goals in the Dunga and Saigak fields in a safe and efficient manner. Supervision of office based as well as field based engineers is an integrated part of daily tasks.
• Recommend/implement training of field personnel in automation and well testing.
• Ensure preparation of workover and well completion programs such that they meet performance governmental and corporate standards for safe and efficient operation. Execute the programs and ensure that field operations are performed in full compliance.
• Develop appropriate standards / procedures for well work.
• Recommend corrosion and scale treatment programs.
• Prepare tender documents and follow through to issue of purchase orders
• Track and review Workover/completion costs and make specific recommendations to reduce costs without sacrificing safety or well performance.
• Monitor warehouse inventory to ensure adequate supply including backup supplies of tubulars tools and other items related to completion equipment.
• Prepare cost estimates and workover recommendations as needed by other groups.
• Track historical well performance to ensure that lessons learned are captured and implemented.
• Monitor daily production through automation and make specific recommendations to improve performance; e.g. changes in speed and control parameters to maximize recovery while minimizing equipment wear.
• Coordinate and liaise with other disciplines on production and completion issues.
• Coordinate service company support for artificial lift and workover operations.

CONSULTATION
• Liaison and communication with the subsurface and well operations teams.
• Contribute to the optimisation of the assets performance.
• Participate in cross asset initiatives to identify new technologies and enable the global team to benefit from experiences elsewhere.
