Tunnelling Engineer/Principle Engineer - London - 38,000 - 64,000 plus benefits

Our client is a multi-discipline consultancy who has a number of opportunities in the Tunnelling Team. Therefore you will have specific Tunnelling experience and looking to progress your career with a well known design consultancy.

Your main responsibility will be to lead and manage sub project teams and assist with the development of more junior engineers in the team. You will be required to design tunnels and underground structures and assist with the production of design solutions, reporting, specifications and drawings, covering a range of project requirements from new build to modification, maintenance and refurbishment.

Main points
* Range of technical and managerial capabilities with in-depth knowledge in either bored tunnel design, cut & cover design, stations and shafts in soft ground or rock conditions
* Understanding of different construction methods and effects on design. Structural design of RC and steel sections
* Able to produce risk assessments and specifications
* Excellent inter-personal and negotiation skills are essential, with the ability to understand and present others' points of view
* Self motivated and able to work under own initiative
* A high degree of oral and written communication skills

Qualifications:
- Degree in civil engineering or equivalent
- Chartered status, or prepared to work towards
