TELECOMS DESIGN SUPERVISOR CONTRACT MIDDLESEX, UK
Our Client, an international oil, gas and petrochemical contractor, is seeking a Telecoms Design Supervisor to join one of their projects based in Middlesex.
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:
ESSENTIAL SKILLS
• Good relevant qualifications (ONC, BTech. or better).
• Advanced experience in telecoms, instrumentation or electrical design and drawing production, the majority of which must be in the petrochemical or related industries.
• Thorough knowledge of PDMS 3D modelling and drawing extraction/manipulation/ management. Specific experience with instrument and/or electrical cable trench modelling is essential.
• Thorough knowledge of 2D AutoCAD and Microstation drawing production systems.
• Good knowledge of use of SmartPlant Instrumentation (SPI)
• Knowledge of design aspects of earthing, cabling, underground services.
• Able to supervise, direct and advise a small team of designers, plan the production of drawings and other telecoms documentation, provide checking expertise, coordinate with lead engineer and interface effectively with other disciplines and execution centres.
PREFERRED SKILLS
Knowledge of use of Client CARDS cable management system.
JOB SCOPE:
• Plans, schedules, develops, coordinates and may direct designers on assigned portions of moderate size engineering projects or smaller projects with many complex features.
• Quality design and checking skills may be required on a broad spectrum of technology applications.
• Provides expert design support to the telecoms design team. Although the primary role is the underground PDMS modeling and 2D drawing production, will be required to provide supporting work in 2D CAD, SPI, spreadsheets and other telecoms design deliverables related work.

Duration: 12 months minimum
