Subsea Materials Engineer - 9635/3 job in UK
SUBSEA MATERIALS ENGINEER - South East.
Deepwater Developments Contract role - anticipated duration 12 Months.
The position is for a Senior Subsea Materials Specialist with specification and component qualification experience together with specific knowledge of interfacing with cathodic protection systems to take a key role in a major subsea project. Applicants will need to demonstrate expertise in the following areas:
selection and specification of materials for the design of oil and gas plant, pipelines and subsea equipment
Assessment of the internal corrosion control methods required for the above
Welding and joining procedures for the above
Vendor support, including: evaluation of equipment manufacturing and construction procedures for the above It would also be an advantage to have experience in some of the following areas:
Design and operation of offshore cathodic protection systems
Corrosion assessment and material selection for plant, pipelines and subsea equipment
Selection and application of coating systems
Selection of corrosion monitoring systems
Applicants should have qualifications in metallurgy, materials engineering or materials science and considerable dedicated work experience in materials engineering.
