Job Description
Our London based EPC Subsea contractor client is now looking for the following person for one of their key projects.

Subsea Hardware Engineer (Contract or Perm)
London

The role is for a subsea project engineer, degree qualified and chartered, preferably
with deepwater development experience. Candidate should have strong experience in the design,
fabrication, installation and testing of one or more of the following -

subsea manifolds, PLETs, XTs, controls and umbilicals together with
support tooling. Direct experience in rigid pipeline design is also desirable.
The candidate should be able to supervise junior engineers, specialist engineers and
CAD staff and be competent to check their work.
Candidate will be working initially within an integrated team as part of a FEED project,
comprising subsea tie-back of wells.

Responsibilities will include:
Preparing initial equipment selection strategies in line with clients
documentation and preferences
Contribution to the selection and options process for the initial field layout and
architecture
Preparation of technical notes, reports and decision papers in conjunction with
client representative engineers to define hardware requirements and scope
Preparation of preliminary equipment functional specifications
Development of testing strategies (FAT/EFAT/SIT) and installation
requirements
verifying compliance to Company's specifications and technical documentation
interface with client's own equipment, systems and pipeline engineering teams
Co-ordination of verification processes for manufacture and qualification
testing techniques to be employed
Provide support to the preparation of the ITT documentation
Development of assurance processes with the Company integrity
management system

Experience and knowledge of the following:
XT and wellhead design, drilling interfaces
Pipeline operation, integrity management, pigging requirements
Foundation designs, support structures
Subsea control system designs, operation, reliability
Umbilical design and installation issues
Subsea manifold/PLET/Structures and installation
ROV tooling, intervention systems
Well metering, flow metering systems
Corrosion protection systems
Material selections
Interfaces with SPS equipment, components & tooling
SIT testing and site testing activities
Interaction with installation/recovery vessels
Diverless connection systems
Test equipment requirements, scheduling & planning
