To execute engineering design work as part of an engineering team. Primary task is to produce engineering drawings using CAD systems.
Work within the engineering team as a Designer/Draughtsman responsible for preparation of engineering drawings.
Execute design work as required by the allocated engineering team e.g. controls project team, SLS engineering team, SFD engineering team, product development engineering team.
When working as part of a design team within the wider engineering team, follow the instructions of the Senior Designer, Project Engineer, Program Manager or Service Support in relation to work prioritisation and schedule.
Prepare design models & drawings in relation to system level drawings, bid drawings, concept design, electrical single line diagram, electrical termination diagram, electrical schematic, wiring diagrams and other types of drawing as determined by the requirements of the engineering team.
Carry out SAP material and Bill of Materials creation and modification and EC processing as required to complete design tasks.
Carry out formal drawing checking as appropriate to level of experience and according to instruction from a relevant Senior Designer or the Manager: Design Department.
Hold the required level of knowledge on applicable company & industry drawing standards and apply this to all drawing work undertaken. Advise engineers on drawing standards issues.
Have knowledge of and follow the company & industry best practice in use of electrical symbols and notation on drawings.
Develop knowledge of and follow company best practice on drawing layout/presentation.
Know and follow company engineering processes including the design review process.
Use company CAD Facilities in accordance with company and client standards and procedures.
Operate as the main design resource (independent of a Senior Designer) in some circumstances as directed by Manager: Design Department.
Monitor and control time utilised on design tasks to ensure that any assigned work packages are completed to budget and timesacale.
Provide tutoring to graduate trainees and apprentices.
Be familiar with Company HSE Operating System, HSEQ Policies, Principles, HSE Mindset and Just Care and actively promote these through personal commitment.

Knowledge / Experience / Qualifications

HND or HNC or equivalent in a relevant discipline such as Mechanical Engineering.
Demonstrable ability to produce technical drawings.
Professional level skills with current autoCAD and Solidworks or a similar 3D Design package are essential.
Working knowledge of Word, Excel, NCR systems, SAP.
Appropriate subsea product knowledge or transferable knowledge from another industry.
Demonstrable knowledge of tolerancing, welding symbols, and other standards and their appropriate use.
