Studies Specialist Engineer - POWER - Kuwait

With demand in their Power Networks sector continually growing we are looking to appoint a Studies Specialist Engineer for the Kuwait office.

To be successful in this role you will be a degree qualified engineer with a minimum 10 years experience, specializing in Power System Study. You will be required to use the available offline PTI Power System Simulators for Engineers (PSS/E) programs to conduct studies for load flow, short circuit, transient stability etc. Checking and compiling all documents pertaining to System Studies will also be one of the key responsibilities.

You will also be required to analyze the system dynamic behavior and accordingly update the operational policies for all system components with coordination with the Operations Engineer.

Within this role you will assist the Studies Expert Engineer in conducting peak load and minimum load analysis and expected summer peak load and expected winter minimum Load analysis and submit detailed reports.

As a Specialist Engineer you will have good communication skills and should be able to independently conduct the studies in the absence of the Expert Engineer and liaise with the Operation dept and other sectors of the Ministry of Electricity and Water for detailed report and recommendations.

Your success within this role will be measured on your performance through several factors, firstly successful completion of the project, secondly ensuring that all outcomes have been achieved that were agreed by the client and the project teams and thirdly, building successful and sustainable relationships between PB and the client organization.

ESSENTIAL:
- Minimum 10 years experience within Electrical Engineering, with 5 years in the specific field
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
- Knowledge of Power system software for conducting Studies/analysis

DESIRABLE:
- Previous work experience in the Middle East would be an advantage

EDUCATION:
- B.Sc. Electrical Engineering or similar
