Our Client has a vacancy for a Specialist Engineer ÃÂÂ Mechanical, based in Aberdeen. This is a permanent position.

Responsibilities:
Assist the systems engineer to prepare the technical content of fixed price bids, budgetary bids and studies including clarification to technical tenders.
The Mechanical / Specialist Engineers may meet with clients with the System Engineer present to represent the company.
Assist Systems Engineers with the provision of technical authority for the system design on projects such that we build in the project what was bid during the tendering phase.
The Mechanical / Specialist Engineers review the products available and suggest the best product to fit the system.
This process may require new parts to be created in SAP and create new datasheets; this would be done in conduction with the System Engineers and other parties within engineering as required.
Review client specifications, to ensure products are suitable for application.
Raise exceptions to client specifications where products do not comply.
Co-ordinate during tender for specialist area to ensure system engineer knows which items require qualification or current TRL.
Select "standard" products to suit system solution provided by system engineer.
Liaise with Research & Development and Product Development to ensure non-qualified products are suitable with current planned developments.
Allocate timescale and engineering hours to tenders and studies.
Compile technical datasheets where no current datasheet exists for inclusion in tender/study.
Liaise with discipline Engineers to see current best practice.
Assist system engineer to ensure optimum system solutions will work with current product or proposed products.
Assist systems engineer in preparing responses to bid clarifications from clients.
Assist system engineer in study work received by the department.
Ensure that the Project Execution Model Execution part is correctly utilised on projects.
Additionally, when workload demands, the job holder may be assigned other duties as defined by the Supervisor.

Qualifications/Experience:
Essential:
Degree or HND/HNC and professional experience in a relevant discipline.
Detailed knowledge of MathCAD or similar analysis package.
Knowledge of specialist area of subsea control systems.

Specific Training/Specialist Skills:
Essential:
Proficient in Microsoft Windows, Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Understanding of Mechanical / Hydraulic and/or electrical systems.

Desirable:
Working knowledge in SAP.
