Job Title: Senior Structural Designer Location: Aberdeen Rate: Neg Duration: Ongoing Company: Our client appears in the FTSE 100 index and is an international energy services company specializing in Oil and Gas and has annual revenues of over 2.6 billion. They believe that it is the people that drive their success, from Project Managers, Project Engineers, consultants to designers and commercial personnel. They work globally employing over 20,000 people on major operations including the UK. Role: Support the Principal or Lead Designer in department activities. In conjunction with other members of the team, produce cost effective structural design solutions for various onshore and offshore modifications. The preparation of 2D and 3D design drawings and sketches, occasional offshore surveys and reports, workpack compilation, checking of drawings and other documents, liaison with structural engineers and other disciplines. Supervision of assigned discipline CAD and design personnel. Give technical direction and guidance to CAD and design personnel. Experience of 3D modelling with PDMS Design. PDMS experience preferred for brownfield mods work. Extensive experience in offshore oil and gas Brownfield modifications and Greenfield works, such as: access platforms, equipment supports, caisson/riser installation and replacement, topsides modifications/strengthening, topsides and bridge layouts. Willing to go offshore Experienced in use of Microstation Skills/Qualifications ONC or equivalent in structural engineering or a related discipline. Sound knowledge of structural design principles and the ability to reflect these in various engineering projects from concept to detailed design.
