Senior Project Engineer - Marine Construction job in Australia
Are you looking for a new role, with opportunity and responsibility? Our client is looking for a Senior Project Engineer to work at their Brisbane office. This is a Permanent role.
Our client is the 3rd largest oil and gas exploration and Development Company and is the largest PNG's oil and gas producer and operates all of PNG's producing oil and gas fields.
The Senior Project Engineer provides project engineering for an oil export system life extension program, and in particular, for a major refurbishment programme for an offshore platform. There will be a recruitment to travel on an as required basis, attend meetings at suppliers, contractors and other third parties premises, both interstate, overseas and at offshore locations.
Responsibilities
The position responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
· Coordinate timely, accurate technical input to ITT package preparation
· Interface with the companies contracts group
· Interface with the companies and contractors project controls groups; monitor progress, identify schedule risks and develop appropriate mitigation plans recommend schedule amendments, sequence changes etc where optimisation opportunities are identified and deliver value
· Interface with the project controls group, monitor accrued and committed costs against budgets, support development of expenditure profiles
· Contribute to technical evaluation of tenders for equipment and marine spreads
· Coordinate third party technical input, monitor progress and ensure timely review by internal and external stakeholders as required
· Project point of contract for day to day matters addressing queries from internal & external sources
· Coordinate input to and compile status reports
· Coordinate technical reviews and progress reviews with contractors, internal and external stakeholders
Qualifications/Experience
· 15 years exp with a minimum of 10 years exp of brownfield modifications/upgrades to offshore platforms. Experience in pipelay, CALM buoy installation, barge operations, riser installation, sub-sea tie-ins and marine construction projects will also be highly regarded
· Formal qualifications in a related technical discipline
· Experience in tender package development
· Project scope of work development
