Business & Industry Experience:
Previous Oil & Gas or equivalent in a design environment with an engineering contractor or operator.
Education:
Degree or equivalent in appropriate Project Engineering or related subject. Candidates with an HNC/HND qualification and necessary experience will also be considered for the position.
An appropriate Engineering degree is preferable and Chartered membership of recognised engineering institution desirable. Previous engineering experience is required which should include at least some experience in the petrochemical industry.
Accountability:
Accountable to the Project Manager for ensuring that all projects for your Assets and Satellites installations are delivered in a safe, cost effective and timely manner, while ensuring that cost control, reporting, planning, risk control and other project engineering functions are completed.
Basic Functions:
The position will require the successful candidate to undertake the following roles & responsibilities:-
Provide active Safety Leadership for all assigned Projects.
Act as single point of contact for all Projects on the asset.
Identify and manage all project interfaces.
Take responsibility for managing all assigned projects to ensure that they are delivered safely.
Co-ordinate discipline input to complete or clarify workscope/SoR/BoD.
Co-ordinate discipline input and estimating team to define project costs.
Co-ordinate discipline input and estimating team to define project risks and mitigations. Maintain a culture of risk awareness.
Ensure planning and reporting of projects is regularly undertaken in progress meetings and verify project performance through appropriate scrutiny of performance reports.
Regularly liaise with the Asset Management and the client Operating Unit Team Members.
Vendor and third party liaison and co-ordination as required.
Ongoing monitoring of project costs, ensuring that growth is captured and reported through the raising of PVNs.
Ongoing monitoring of project progress, both in design and implementation phases, to ensure that appropriate schedule is maintained. Raising PCNs where appropriate.
Act as point of contact for client interface on all Asset specified projects.
Liaise with all disciplines, including construction, in the execution of the work and ensure that all design changes are captured by the change control process.
Ensure all discipline engineering work is carried out in accordance with asset priorities and schedules as set out in the integrated plan.
Identify and co-ordinate Commissioning and Close Out activities for your assigned projects.
Must be conversant and knowledgeable with respect to current and new legislation and standards.
Be responsible for specific change and improvement initiatives.
Skills/Qualifications
Technical / Business Skills:
Able to work within budgets and prepare accurate cost estimates from client outline requirements.
Able to travel offshore to UKNS installations.
Interpersonal Skills:
Demonstrates Excellent Oral & Written Communication.
Ability to interface with client on a daily basis and have a positive can do attitude.
Able to confront & resolve difficult personnel situations.
Competencies:
Demonstrates integrity and accepts responsibility.
Must be able to work with minimal supervision.
Proficient with use of Microsoft database, spreadsheet and word-processing packages.
Essential to have full certification to travel to UKNS installations.
