Job Description
Our client is a leading international oil and gas contractor, who have a requirement for a Senior Principal Cost Engineer to work in a project office in Middlesex. The successful applicant will be required to:-

Forecast, control, and report project costs needed within an organisation.
Develop and provide project variances, trending and analysis of expenditures, and completion reports.
Review project costs incurred by category, calculates future costs based on labour productivity, material price increases, subcontract, wage rates and risk analysis.
Under broad direction, is accountable for the performance and results of multiple related disciplines or sub-groups within the project controls function.
Manage the delivery of functional objectives by providing leadership and direction to managers or professional staff.
Participate in the development of project controls strategy and may be responsible for global processes and procedures.

Ideally, the successful candidate will have:-

Significant cost experience in the oil & gas industry, with EPC experience.
Expert in the use of Cost Control Management Systems in a multi-office, multi-currency reporting environment
Excellent leadership skills
Excellent communication skills
Advanced in the use of Microsoft Excel, MS Access, MS Powerpoint
Experience of PCMS or similar system
Estimating knowledge

Skills required for this job are typically acquired through the completion of an undergraduate degree and significant proven experience in large scale oil and gas projects. This opportunity can be either permanent on a salary of between 50-59 plus benefits package or on contract with a hourly rate of between 42 to 44.80ph.
