Our client has a vacancy for a Senior Operations / Completions Engineer based in Luanda, Angola.

As Senior Operations / Completions Engineer you will be responsible for operations planning in accordance with site specific operating procedures (SOPs) and will carry out the implementation, auditing and process improvement of operations as well as co-ordination of completion operation engineers. This role is a critical stakeholder in completion delivery and a "client" to completion design engineers to ensure alignment between design and wellsite delivery (completion supervisors). The primary purpose of the role is to provide operation delivery assurance. In carrying out this role, the senior completion operations engineer interfaces principally with rig operations and execution planning teams.

Your main responsibilities will include:

• Responsible for wellsite delivery assurance (people, plant, process) of completions


• Lead CWOP and Wash-up meetings with service partners, implementation team (CSVs) and Ops Engineers to capture lessons and resolve all completion operation issues as well as ensure CIP process is maintained


• Review and approve work programmes with a bias for delivery assurance (reliability) and bring efficiencies to operations


• Implement work programmes on MODU(s) including operation readiness and set up of all completion activities in line with contractual commitments with MODU(s) and BP ETP and SOP


• Coaching for performance (safety and operation) of completion operation engineers and supervisors to improve their autonomy and ability to take ownership at wellsite


• Lead the engagement of disciplines (SS, Drilling, and Subsea) for the Execute phase


• Lead risk mitigation and contingency work front for completion operations Execute


• Accountable for maintenance of accurate well Ops data (OW, Well FLASH, WHoD)


• Support Completion ETL's / CE's in Operational Incidents investigation


• Operation assurance approver of MOCs prepared by Completion Operation Engineers


• Responsible for operations mobilization and demobilization management liaising with DMC's off and onshore

Qualifications and experience required:

• Management of diverse group of completion operation engineers.


• Influencing wellsite leaders and completion supervisors


• Capturing and maintaining energy on the implementation of best practices


• Ensuring compliance with BP's DWOP and ETP


• Influencing and supporting completion operation engineers


• Managing multiple inter-linked facets of operation in an uncertain context


• Managing well operation data/ reports from different stakeholders


• Assurance around analysis and accuracy of all operation data maintained in system


• Engage and influence service partners in a dwindling resources and remote environment


• Ability to be a self starter and maintain focus under pressure

This is a contract position with an immediate start and a rotation of 28:28.

The rate for this position is negotiable.
