Job Description

A Major Operator requires 5 Senior Instrument Engineers to join them on a 12 month contract. They require a Senior Instrument Engineer for the following areas: Gas gathering & Pipelines; Process plant; Sulphur recovery; sulphur station; Utilities & Offsites.

This positions will provide general instrument and controls engineering support to the Operations Shift Superintendent and the Shah Operations team during the project EPC and Startup Phases to ensure operational readiness. The successful candidate will contribute to the resolution of instrument and controls operations, reliability and maintenance issues during the engineering and construction phases of the project. Upon completion of the project, the candidate may assume a position of responsibility for the instrument and controls engineering or maintenance in the gas development operations organization.

1. Reports to the Operations Shift Superintendent.
2. Collaborates and provides appropriate consultation with the Instrument and Controls engineers, Process engineers and HSE engineers in the Central Engineering organization.
3. Meets regularly and maintains good working relationships with the Instrument and Controls engineers in the EPC Contractor organization and MAC organization.
4. Support and works the Operability Assurance plan and program to achieve readiness for operations.
5. Ensure HSE requirements for equipment and systems are met or exceeded

8. Work Environment:
1. Office environment during detail engineering at EPC Contactors home office. Extended stay in a harsh, desert field environment during construction, commissioning and start up phases.
2. Major Capital Project environment with competing priorities and objectives.
3. Multicultural workforce teams with diverse business cultures.
4. Willingness to travel frequently during the project phase (/- 15% - international & domestic)

Suitable candidates will have a Bachelor of Science in Control Engineering or combination of equivalent degree, and instrument and controls maintenance experience with at least 10 years instrument and control engineering experience at a senior or supervisory level in the hydrocarbon, power generation or chemical processing industry. Experience in maintainability, constructability and operability planning for instrument and control systems in major capital or upgrade projects, schedule development or other related aspects of projects and/or maintenance. Supervisory experience in managing instrument and controls systems maintenance and DCS administration for onshore remote/desert pipeline systems. Ability to work with and influence at different levels of the organization.
