Main Duties:
Maintain the required technical quality of work

Ensure that work output complies with the relevant procedures

Provide technical assistance to discipline assigned staff as required

Ensure as far as practically possible all assigned work is carried out in compliance with agreed budget and schedule

Keep up-to-date with technical developments, national and international standards and legislative requirements related to the scope of the discipline

Review work/work output of discipline assigned staff as required

Prepare estimates and assist in the review of proposed schedules

Ensure that results of any development work are fully utilised in discipline activities

Participate as necessary in discussions with Client and visit jobsites when necessary

Assist the Lead or Senior Discipline Engineer when requested in the execution of their responsibilities and duties

Education & Qualifications:

Degree in an electrical engineering related discipline.

HNC or equivalent in an electrical engineering related discipline.

Specific Training / Specialist Skills:

Formal recognised training programme relevant to career path, e.g. for degree quals IET recognised grad training programme.

BOSIET Offshore survival certification

Current offshore medical certificate

Use of Power System Analysis package

Electrical Equipment for use in a Hazardous Area

Electrical Protection

Power Management

Experience:

Awareness and practical application of Electric motors, generators, switchboards, transformers & other main components of electrical systems

Awareness and practical application of Electrical equipment for use in Hazardous Areas

Awareness and practical application of Electrical Protection

Awareness and practical application of Power System Analysis

Awareness and practical application of UPS Equipment

Awareness and practical application of Power Management Systems

Awareness and practical application of the operation & control of gas turbine & diesel driven generators

Knowledgeable in electrical engineering principles and their application in engineering projects

Awareness of the oil & gas or petrochemical industry and the application of electrical equipment therein
