Qualifications/Training Essential:

ONC or equivalent in appropriate engineering subject

Desirable:

HNC or equivalent in appropriate engineering subject

Essential:

Experienced designer with sound technical background and strong knowledge of manual and CAD draughting techniques

Conversant with codes of practice, standards and relevant sections of statutory documentation applicable to draughting function

Conversant with company quality control assurance requirements applicable to draughting function

Able to create base design drawings / models from agreed workscope with minimal input from engineering personnel

Ability to accept delegated responsibility and control budgets for delegated tasks

Computer literate (database / spreadsheets)

Able to provide draughting checking function as directed by lead designer
Purpose/Role:

Execute Engineering Systems Discipline design and draughting activities within budget and schedule
Deliver all discipline engineering design activities to cost, schedule and quality criteria.

Implement Company, and where applicable, Client/Project policies and procedures.

Checking and preparation of design/engineering documentation.

Undertake tasks on behalf of Principal Designer or Lead Engineer as directed.

Undertake work in accordance with relevant Codes, Standards and Procedures.

Undertake surveys necessary to develop area of work assigned.

Maintain and develop current awareness of relevant engineering technology.

Maintain and develop current awareness of relevant Codes and Standards.

Liaise with other disciplines, departments, project personnel, vendors, etc.

Ensure all design drawings and documents are complete within the allocated hours and in accordance with the programme.

Preparation of detailed drawings and documents to the requirements of the Principal Designer/Lead Engineer.

Ensure all discipline design interfaces are clearly defined.

Carry out site visits where necessary

Assist in training and mentoring of junior personnel as required

Provide technical assistance to discipline assigned personnel as required

Assist the Lead Engineer and others when requested in the execution of their responsibilities and duties
