Our Client has a vacancy for a Senior Drilling Supervisor.  This is a contract position, based in Libya, North Africa.

As Senior Drilling Supervisor, you will act as the Company's representative onboard the rig, ensuring that all well-site operations are performed in a safe, environmentally friendly and cost effective manner.  You will effectively manage the activities of all Contractors to ensure that the objectives of the approved programs of work are met, while complying with Company and Local statutory policies and standards.  This will also involve continuously evaluating operations, with a view to identifying, recommending and implementing methods of improving safety and performance.
 
Responsibilities:
Personally witness all key operations.
Supervise Contractors in the day-to-day execution of all approved drilling, testing, completion and other programmes.
Avoid non productive time, by ensuring - in coordination with the Drilling Superintendent - that all personnel, equipment and materials needed to carry out the planned operations, are available onboard the rig in due time.
Co-ordinate the collection of and verify the correctness of all subsurface, operational & rig site data prior to transmitting it back to Companies base.
Compute and transmit the daily operations cost estimate to Companies base.
Maintain an accurate Inventory at the Well-site of all Company and Contractor equipment and consumable materials.
Coordinate and approve all personnel movements.
Liaise with the Drilling Contractors Supervisors onboard the rig, keeping them fully abreast of current and planned drilling/completion/testing activities. Notify them of any developments or program changes which may influence safety and operability of the rig.
Continually monitor the effectiveness of the ongoing operational process, and report on same to the Drilling Superintendent. Make recommendations for improvements to the programme.
Ensure that contractual obligations of all Contractors and Suppliers are fulfilled.

Qualifications & Experience:
Substantial experience at Senior Drilling Supervisor (Company Man) level on oil well Drilling Rigs.
Experience of working in sour environment.
Experience of drilling through loss circulation zones.
In possession of current IWCF well control certificate at Drilling Supervisor Level.
In possession of valid Offshore Medical Certificate, H2S, and Helicopter Escape certificates.
Preferable, though not essential:
Experience of well testing/completion/work-over operations.
Experience of mud cap and/or under-balanced drilling techniques.
Qualified to degree level in technical/engineering discipline.
Experience of working in cold climate conditions.

Competencies:
Proven Leadership ability.
Accuracy in the following and to report as request in the accountability.
Computer literate, capable of producing technical reports, and organising/analyzing drilling well data.
Team player, capable of liaising with operational, technical and professional personnel from Company, Contractor and Governmental organizations.
Fluent in English language.

Working Conditions:
Oil Well HP - HT Environment.
Off Shore site with relatively low water depth implications.
Weather temperature typical from artic area 40 C. down to -45 C.
All related to off shore associated with HP-HT oil well like Sour & Flammable gas.

The salary for this role is 720 - 810 GBP per day.
