Our client is a leading provider of goods and services to the subsea sector of the oil and gas industry. They are currently seeking an experienced Senior Corrosion Engineer to join their team of Materials, Welding and Corrosion engineers. The successful candidate will be required to provide technical support to various Subsea Projects.

Duties will include:
Plan, produce, review and approve specifications and related technical documents covering all materials and corrosion mitigation aspects associated with subsea structure/ pipeline design, construction and installation
Review client generated specifications and related documents pertaining to materials, and corrosion mitigation systems
Review and approve contractor/subcontractor/ vendor corrosion mitigation systems and related documents
Provide specialist technical support to projects and other disciplines within the Company with regard to materials selection and corrosion mitigation; provide technical solution of issues within discipline
Maintain awareness of recognised industry codes and standards relevant to corrosion and materials discipline, (eg ISO 8501, DNV RP-401, BS 5493, EEMUA 194, Norsok, etc.) providing advice and guidance on interpretation and use where appropriate
Train and mentor Junior and Graduate engineers

Technical: Ability to interface with non specialists within multi disciplinary project teams
Self Management: Good organisational skills and able to work with a minimum of supervision

Qualifications and Education
Degree in chemistry, metallurgy, materials science, or a related engineering subject
Post graduate qualification in corrosion science/engineering advantageous. Other qualifications may be considered dependent on experience
Continuing Professional Development:
Commitment to maintaining personal CPD

Experience
The candidate is required to have extensive relevant experience within the Engineering discipline some of which should be within oil & gas or related sectors
Experience in performing CP design for pipelines and Subsea installations. Experience in corrosion protection and insulation coating selection including field joint coating systems.
Candidates should be dedicated and have the ability to motivate themselves when unsupervised
