SENIOR ASSET INTEGRITY ENGINEER

Location: Qatar

Coordinates efficient and cost-effective implementation of inspections and integrity management programs to ensure integrity of plant facilities including all onshore and offshore structures and pipelines, stationary equipment, piping systems, etc., to identify, investigate and assess deterioration /corrosion and ensure timely maintenance of the affected facilities.

Implements companys Inspection and Corrosion Control Policy ( ICCP) and Risk Based Inspection (RBI) methods to manage integrity, and optimize inspections frequency, maintenance cost and plant availability. Coordinates with other Maintenance & Inspection Units to improve inspection and maintenance programs and enhance plant integrity and performance.

Participates in preparation of Capital and Operating budgets for Inspection Unit. Monitors and reconciles capital and operating expenditure against planned budget for inspections, and redresses any variances to ensure effective cost control.

Coordinates closely with the Maintenance Planning Unit to develop and implement inspection programmes. Ensures the adequate frequency of the scheduled inspection programs in view of historical data on corrosion rate of various facilities and equipment. Prepares detailed inspection check lists for each maintenance cycle and the estimated man-hour and skill requirements.

Monitors and oversees the execution of inspection programs and activities. Liaises closely with Operations, Technical Services and other Maintenance Units to coordinate major shutdowns and turn-around activities.

Prepares and issues Inspection Reports, Work lists and Certificates (as applicable) for equipment and piping in the assigned areas.

Ensures close supervision on Inspection and Certification activities of Inspectors in assigned areas.

Supervises witnesses and participates in certification process of hydro tests and load test of lifting devices and cylinders.

Reviews and approves welding procedures for process equipment fabrication and repairs.

Provides technical advice on engineering and plant modification projects, repair techniques, materials selection, welding procedures, inspection and testing requirements, and makes recommendations based upon field observation and inspection findings.

Ensures systematic and consistent implementation of work methods and procedures used in Maintenance and Inspection and recommends improvements. Ensures systematic update of SAP/CMMS/RBI systems. Reviews and approves welding procedures for process equipment fabrication and repairs.

Receives and evaluates referred inspection requests and investigates reported corrosion of structures, pipelines, etc. Evaluates innovative technologies, identifies opportunities for improved inspection techniques and programs, and recommends changes to ensure effective integrity inspection service.

Identifies and recommends requirements for specialized contractor work. Participates in the preparation of job specification/job scope of contracts and assists in bids evaluation as required. Monitors contractors performance and quality of services to ensure compliance with their contractual obligations.

Recommends the purchase of new equipment and parts. Ensures availability of materials, spares and tools for smooth execution of activities. Coordinates with Procurement and Stores and follows up on maintenance contracts and contractual matters as necessary.

Prepares and reviews various inspection reports such as Corrosion Rate Analysis, Cycle Cost Analysis on various process equipment and piping systems, etc. Evaluates effectiveness of Corrosion Inhibitor programs and make recommendations. Carries out Fitness for Service evaluation on existing process equipment and piping systems

Participates in technical studies, PID reviews, Safety Integrity Level (SIL) assessments and HAZOPs.

Supports Operations and Technical Support, providing engineering and project management services for minor projects including the planning, execution and supervision of the works.

Monitors the quality and performance of inspection programs against the KPIs and ensures continuous improvement of services.

Complies with all company Health, Safety & Environmental policies and procedures.

Conducts all work activities in a safe and environmentally responsible manner by not taking on any task(s) that are perceived as unsafe and if in doubt, consults supervisor/manager before proceeding.

Participates in HSE meetings and company QHSE promotional programs.

Educational Requirements / Qualifications:

Bachelors degree(4yrs) in Materials & Corrosion, Metallurgical or Mechanical Engineering

Experience:

Minimum of 12-15 years experience in Inspections and Maintenance in Oil & Gas

Minimum of 12 years experience as Inspection Engineer in major oil/gas refinery, gas processing or petrochemical plant including offshore production facilities
