As a Senior Commercial Manager you will responsible for leading and managing the commercial interests of multiple business units, with high importance placed on strong leadership qualities. Your commercial and QS background experience will also support your success in this role.

DESCRIPTION
Your duties would include;
- Develop & maintain relations with key client commercial counterparts
- Assist regional manager in identifying & developing new markets & business opportunities
- Prepare& obtain authorisation of authority to bid, contract risk profiles and agree qualifications with Group Commercial Manger/internal counsel/corporate management
- Lead negotiation of contract terms & conditions with clients
- Facilitate commercial tender handover process
- Review and approve major procurement packages
- Review and approve major contract/subcontract variations & contractual claims
- Coordinate & manage regional legal/ insurance matters
- Prepare regional commercial reports to prescribed formats & timescales
- Take a lead role assisting the Group Commercial Manager to maintain a commercially proactive, well informed, qualified & professional business group commercial team.
- Provide resources and co-ordinate commercial support for projects within the region.
REQUIREMENTS
To qualify for this position you will possess the following;
- Degree educated or other equivalent tertiary qualification
- Ideally having achieved relevant professional institute membership
- Typically having previously held senior project commercial management positions
- Ideally have QS experience working on Alliance Projects
- Typically with at least 15 years post graduate experience in commercial management & commercial administration within the construction industry
KEY COMPETENCIES
You will also possess the following skills & attributes;
- Strategy - ability to develop & implement commercial strategies to support regional business unit & project objectives
- Claims preparation - ability to prepare and negotiation Joint Venture, Consortium Agreements and other supply chain agreements including drafting of amendments to standard forms
- Finance - ability to identify & interpret the factors that influence project income & expenditure and act on these to optimise cash-flow & margin
- Dispute resolution - ability to manage & coordinate dispute resolution process
- Negotiation - ability to identify a position, formulate the arguments to be used to influence & persuade others as to the veracity of that position & engage in an endeavour to reach beneficial agreement while avoiding protracted contractual disputes.
