Job Description

Purpose/Summary:

Client has through its subsidiary in Angola made a commercial oil field discovery and is now planning to develop the field. It is planned that the project management and engineering is located in Houston.

It is the responsibility of the Project Manager Subsea & Installation to:

1. Initially work along with the Senior Project Manager, the Project Manager FPSO, the Field Development Planning (FDP) team and the Operational team during final concept selection and specification leading to the final FDP. During this stage be responsible for making all necessary preparations for contract award including functional and quality specifications, contract bidding and setting up of the appropriate organisation to execute and control the implementation of all subsea parts of the project.

2. Upon final project sanction head up the contracting of all subsea facilities including installation and tie-in to the FPSO; taking them to handover to Production Operations Angola at first oil.

It is envisaged that reporting to the Senior Project Manager will be a Project Manager FPSO, a Project Manager Subsea and Installation, a Head of Engineering and Interface management and QA/QC. It will be required to liaise closely with the alongside subsurface team, drilling, the production operations team and HSEQ.

The Project Manager Subsea & Installation shall ensure that all subsea and installation activities are executed fully in accordance with the approved project field development plan and Client corporate requirements in respect of, amongst other, scope of work, budgets, time line and quality and with emphasis on matters of HSE and process integrity.

1. Key responsibilities

The Project Manager Subsea & Installation will be responsible for the implementation of all the Project subsea facilities and tie-in to the FPSO to handover to Productions Operations Angola.

Initially collaborate with the Project Manager Appraisal/FDP, the Operations team and the other project managers in the selection of the optimal field development concept.

Make all necessary preparations for the execution of the implementation of the subsea facilities and tie-in to the FPSO including building the right team, management systems for e.g. quality, schedule and cost control.

Make all necessary preparations for the bidding of contracts including preparation of bid documentation and functional descriptions, selection of bidders, inspection of contractors facilities and audit of contractors management systems etc.

Execute international competitive bidding for procurement, onshore fabrication and offshore hook-up and commissioning, as relevant, prepare award recommendations and part take in the obtaining of all necessary approval of Client corporate as wells as from partners and Angolan authorities.

Lead the execution of all the awarded subsea and installation contracts to ensure meeting of all requirements stipulated in the Field Development Plan. In particular consider that time and cost control is of essence and is best achieved by handling risks, contractual and technical issues in a timely, cost conscientious and appropriate manner.

Ensure adequate and appropriate performance and management of HSSE and quality with strict adherence to all relevant legislation and Client corporate procedures and standards.

Ensure that all significant issues in particular risks, contractual and technical issues are brought to the attention of management.

Collaborate closely with the FPSO, Drilling and Production Operations teams to ensure smooth interfacing and caretaking of issues of bordering interest.

Manage the hand over of the subsea facilities and FPSO tie-in to Production Operations fully certified and ready for introduction of hydrocarbons.

Facilitate effective interaction with Client corporate and technical functions

Establish and maintain close liaison with the Angolan authorities and partners.

2. Position specifications

Required Education:

· Technical Degree at MSc. level or higher is preferred

· Technical Degree at BSc. level as a minimum

Required Experience:

· Demonstrated strong capability of driving leadership

· Thorough knowledge of project execution preferably with particular deep water subsea experience

· Strong willingness to align with Client work processes and organizational structure

· High level of commercial acumen with strong general understanding of oil and gas business and strong willingness to align with Client business including value drivers

· Strong networking skills externally and internally - ability to cultivate and build strong a strong team

· High levels of creativity, persistence, curiosity and enthusiasm

· Proficient in both written and spoken English

Qualifications
Masters Degree or equivalent
