Our client is an established name in the refining market. With a business that spans a number of countries they are involved with the refining of gasoline, diesel, light and heavy fuel oils and other special petroleum products. Based at Coryton Refinery, 30 miles to the East of London, they are currently seeking an experienced Project Manager to join their business on a permanent basis.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe, effective and efficient execution of projects (design and build) of large scale projects of 10 million pounds in value or indeed on a number of assigned capital projects, from concept to deliver, on time to budget.
It is essential that candidates can demonstrate a proven track record in autonomous project delivery and budget management.

The role and responsibilities of the position will include:
 


Taking the projects from initial FEED through to project delivery on site preparing and presenting on project execution plans and procurement strategies. Leading the engineering, procurement and construction management contractors from front end invitations to tender to overall project delivery.
Further to this you will be required to ensure project changes and scope changes versus the FEED package are raised, approved and incorporated, Identify and assist in the preparation of training requirements for new projects and Lead the handover, Plant Acceptance and Financial Close out of assigned projects.
For the execution of either a discrete large project, with a Total Installed Cost greater than $10M, or an assigned portfolio of Capital projects fulfil the Project Manager role through all stages of the project in accordance with the corporate capital management process


It is imperative for this role that candidates convey experience in Monitoring project costs, forecasts and schedules and reporting on project performance, risks and mitigation on a monthly basis.
 
Strong communication skills are required as the project interfaces will include Clients, Operations, Engineering Disciplines and Refinery Management. The successful candidate should have a strong engineering knowledge in a core discipline as well as a proven track record in the successful project management and delivery on time to budget of design and build projects within an oil and gas or petrochemical environment.
