Job Description
Our client is expanding. They have secured some key business wins to allow them to progress and develop the work they are undertaking for drilling contractors in the North Sea and now have an immediate requirement for a Lead draughter / Project engineer to join their team on a permanent basis.

The role will involve the successful candidate to carry out the following duties:

- Supervise and check all drawings in the drawing office
- Carry out offshore survey work for large scale pipe work replacement
- Produce drawings and isometrics for piping replacement
- Provide technical input into work packs
- Provide technical input into the process required for decommissioning the old pipe work and re-installing the new pipe work
- Extract information from 3D models to transfer to AutoCAD
- Answer queries from offshore and the workshop
- Supervise a team of surveyor/draughters and check their work
- Interface with clients in the absence of the team lead
- Deputise for the engineering team lead when required on all technical matters
We require a good piping draughting and ideally a structural background for this role. It would be a significant advantage if the candidate had a knowledge of piping systems and valves and also have had some exposure to the drilling sector however this is not essential. We are particularly keen to hear from anyone who has served their time on the tools or as a draughter before progressing within the drawing office into a more senior role. We would also very much like to hear from anyone with a shipyard or gas terminal background or similar environment where large-scale pipework exists. It would also be of significant use if the successful candidate had previously carried out offshore survey work before.

These are large-scale pipe work projects and the company is also specialist in structural steelwork design and production. They have a reputation for excellence within the market, which has been of great benefit to them in securing some of the highly prestigious work that they have been awarded recently.

The company is an investor in people. They are only considering candidates who wish to work on a staff basis for this role, as there is the opportunity for significant progression and continued professional development. They are offering the opportunity for the successful applicant to continue their education on a sponsored basis if desired.

There is a good benefits package available within this role inclusive of a pension scheme, BUPA for self and family, offshore allowances, 28 days holidays and the opportunity to get involved with various social activities. There is also the opportunity to attend corporate sponsored events such outings to the football!

Please contact me now to apply for this role. Interviews will take place on Friday 26th of February and week beginning Monday 1st of March. Please include your availability for interview that week, your remuneration package and your notice period within your application. I will then get in touch to discuss further.
